As an experiment, I tried to create the long-lost collaboration between gloriously sloppy beatmaker J Dilla and the tooth-decayingly sugary N'Sync. Jagged grooves and boy-band harmonies ensued. Dare I say my silliest effort yet.
lyrics
While away the weeks, I watch my weary little world
And wander ‘round
Fending off the future while I fumble for a feeling
Still unfound
It’s just part of the sound
You’ve got no fuckin’ idea what you’re in for
You’re good at keeping your feet on the ground
Keep a calm composure, you’re collecting cadences
And calling clowns
Paint imperfect pictures with some purpose and your time
Will come around
It’s just part of the sound
You’ve got no fuckin’ idea what you’re in for
You’re good at keeping your feet on the ground
(Keep carrying on)
You’ve got no fuckin’ idea what you’re in for
It’s just part of the sound
And it was all on me, how I thought it would be
But I could not see that far
It was all on me, how I thought it would be
And it’s hard…
---
Now you might well have been rockin’ a microphone before I was born
But you can clearly fuckin’ see that I’m a little bit torn between
The future and the past, the feast before the fast
And the memories and plans that were never gonna last
‘Cause you’re flaky, shaky, heart’s a little breaky
It’s easier to dream than to keep yourself awakey
Keep calm and carry on doing this shit
There’ll always be the times you tell yourself “I’m through with this shit”
But when the shit goes down, I don’t know where I’ll be
But I can tell you that my name will still be…
The endomorph chameleon, make you high like helium
Or bum you out until the point you wonder “What’s his deal again?
Is he a sweetie being clever and smart
Or is he cancerous and bad for me like smokin’ a dart?”
I don’t know, but there’s a place I wanna show you around
It’s just part of the sound
You’ve got no fuckin’ idea what you’re in for
You’re good at keeping your feet on the ground
You’ve got no fuckin’ idea what you’re in for
It’s just part of the sound
You’ve got no fuckin’ idea what you’re in for
While away the weeks, I watch my weary little world
